Attitude Altitude and Width

Haaa, I have to chuckle at the human mind -specifically mind.

Mine works a lot better when I am exercising I feel so much more sharp. In the past I've used Ginko Biloboa and Ginseng but nah, man - all I need is intense exercise.

I mean I actually - ready for this? - will NOT overreact to issues if I have had a great workout or if I am in lean out mode. Its crazy but it also makes senses because you have been walking the dog, there is a current outlet in your life so things dont build up. If you are mad, trust me, feeling fat and uncomfortable is worse cause its one massive other deep rooted issue that is thrown into the angst.

So, just one more reason to get the body right because it will get the mind right and together? Unstoppable.

Hide And Seek

How many of you do like I do and fall off the wagon a bit and hide from the scale? Avoid those clothes you recently have been able to fit into because you are scared that they will be too snug. And last thing you need is a blow to the esteem which could lead to depression which leads to stalling or heaven forbid going backward. What a vicious prophecy! Then eventually you decide that you have to face the music and WHALAA! They fit even better than before!

Un. Believable. Now you are back working out and happy.

Success? Maybe but there has got to be a better way. A way where you are confident at all times to carry on, weigh yourself, try on clothes, etc because you have been consistent.

Well as you can probably guess, that was me today. Cut my hair, shaved and tried on clothes and I feel better today than I did yesterday.

Vision

I see myself being able to have an amazing 6 pack despite my genes. This is because when I start to get right I can see them beneath the fat pocket.

Arms. Always had great triceps but when Im working out I do get sime veins in the biceps. I see nice arms in my future.

Legs - great legs I must admit! Calves look AWESOME in pictures. Used to have a nice seat too but somehow it dissapears altogether when I lose weight.

Overall, if I lean out I could still go on a run for being a great looking dude!

My Diet

Well, we sure have tried it all.

Right now, my wife and I are finally doing it together and are on Nutrisystem and I am excited although the food is not exciting.

I like the fact that it is boxed and here so we have to eat if because of the investment (of course to get healthy too but lets be clear about the power of financial motivators). The meals are not satisfying necessarily but the more you eat of them later in the day they do the trick. #3 meals and a "dessert" which i just look at as meal #6. That is one thing I have done religiously is eating 6 meals a day. So I just supplement a couple more meals. I would like to eat my way down 20lbs before I start my new job in January!

My Excercise

I come from a long line of big folks! My saving grace over the years is that I always find some way to exercise. From when I was working 12/hr days at HFC to 1.5 hour days at Holiday Inn to now. A few years back I learned and embraced the concept that high intensity and form are more important than frequency and weights. That being said, because I have been so inconsistent with sticking with a regimen, I have not really made strides in elevating to the next level. Example:

Bench - about 210 (pre-bum shoulder)
HIT - Level 10, 50 seconds high
Swimming (freestyle) - 2 laps max nonstop
Jogging -3 miles, 6mph

I'd like to make a personal goal of besting these caps (not busting these caps).

For one thing, doing the High Intensity Interval Training makes me lose weight fast (if my diet is not trashed) but it is very noticeably more difficult when I put the pounds on. Caffeine or not, it is so much easier when I am lighter. Combine the fact that as a obese man, my weight fluctuates weekly AND that I am running on level 10 for a minute...I am going to explode my heart into a pile of stewed tomatoes if I am not reeeeal careful here.

Good news, is I had lab work, testing done, at Kaiser and have a healthy heart - for now.

I gotta be there for my kids so lets work on the exercising efficiency along with the diet.
